Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad will take over as chairman for the Malaysian sovereign wealth fund, Khazanah Nasional Bhd. The Managing Director for Khazanah will be appointed after reviewing all possible candidates at a later date.

A change in government in Nepal in February saw a dip in the number of Nepalese working in Malaysia. The new Nepalese government is unhappy with Malaysia for allowing a private company to monopolise the entire recruitment process of Nepalese workers.
Malaysia’s sovereign wealth fund Khazanah Nasional Board of Directors handed in undated resignation letter to the Government. This event came after Khazanah National’s transparency was questioned by many politicians after the change in Government.
Tun Dr. Mahathir said that “Islam that you see today is not the Islam that is taught by the religion. It is the Islam interpreted by certain powerful people, leaders, scholars and all that.”
