The internal strife of the Perikatan Nasional is much worse than the conflict between Pakatan Harapan when leading the government, said Muar Member of Parliament, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.
He claimed that in the case of PN, “almost every day and week”, the allies in the government were involved in “discussions and efforts” to overthrow the government led by Muhyiddin Yassin.
“In the past, we were often accused of being unstable by the PH government, there was a struggle between the top two leaders and I agree that there is.
“(But) if it used to be bad, now it is much worse in the political struggle because every week, every day there will be discussions to attract support so that the government (PN) falls,” he said in an interview with Sinar Harian last night.
He said the PN government would not be able to focus on efforts to fight Covid-19, if the political crisis and the movement to overthrow the government continued.
He said the management of Covid-19 under Dzulkefly Ahmad as health minister under the PH administration is much better than Dr Adham Baba under the PN government.
“Dzulkefly handled Covid-19 using data and science, but I know the decision made (today) is not based on science and data.
“So, if (PN) has dignity, this is the best time (for the government) to ‘u-turn’ (and) change the decision (how to operate Covid-19),” he said.
Among those that need to be reviewed, according to Syed Saddiq, is the SOP which is often disputed by the people.
He is confident that if PH continues to lead Putrajaya, Parliament will not be suspended and democratic institutions will not be weakened as the PN government is currently doing.
In the discourse, Seberang Jaya Assemblyman, Dr Afif Bahardin dismissed the accusation that the PN government failed to manage Covid-19 well so that the people were neglected with the implementation of the movement control order.
He also criticized PH’s ability to fight Covid-19, if still in power.
“If the previous administration (PH) is in power now, I am not sure they can announce the budget and assistance of the people of this (PN government).”
He said, during the PH era “there is no health crisis, there is no economic crisis, there is only a crisis who wants to be prime minister”.
“But, the government today we remain focused on improving the lives of the people and facing crises and recovering the economy,” he said.
