Former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad wants Najib Razak not to interfere in his affairs, instead focusing on the court cases faced by the Pekan Member of Parliament.
“I think Najib should not interfere with the accusations against me.
“He should focus on the theft of billions of people’s money in 1MDB. He also needs to pay attention to the suit (against) former Attorney General Tommy Thomas related to the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu, “he said on Facebook.
Mahathir responded to Najib’s action of laughing at him when he claimed that the Langkawi Member of Parliament lied when he insisted that he did not interfere in the affairs of the judiciary.
Mahathir stated this in a special interview with a news portal recently. Mahathir recalled several court decisions when he was the 4th prime minister, not in his favor, especially when the Umno he led was declared invalid by the High Court on 4 Feb 1988.
The decision was made after 11 Umno members sued the party in 1987, demanding that the party’s election earlier this year be declared unconstitutional and invalid.
Mahathir also reminded Najib of a statement he had issued in 1987/1988, on the issue of “hunus keris and bathing keris with Chinese blood”.
Najib had previously denied making the racist statement referred to by Mahathir.
