The people have the right to express their anger at politicians who have certain tricks that have contributed to the recent increase in Covid-19 cases in Malaysia.
Selangor Menteri Besar, Amirudin Shari said, however, the anger should not be focused on frontline workers who are struggling to fight the epidemic.
Amirudin said he was aware of the people’s anger against some politicians following this development and his party also did not deny the matter.
“The weakness of the executive to plan and formulate a plan to deal with Covid-19 is not the fault of the front line staff.
“Therefore, even though we are burned with anger and frustration with the current situation, I request that we all continue to give strong support to this frontline staff,” he said when announcing the Kita Selangor Package online, on Wednesday.
In the meantime, Amirudin said, he is also confident that most Malaysians are fed up with the political toys of certain parties which only aim to divide all parties.
He said the country’s leaders, regardless of political party, should be aware that now is the time to reject any element of racial chauvinism.
“Many are hiding behind ‘real politics’ to justify racist politics.
“If old politicians are not able to discuss honestly to find a solution, maybe it is time for the young to work together to formulate a solution for this country,” he said.
He added that the people only hope for solutions to some things such as low wages, addressing climate challenges, boosting infrastructure development, improving the quality of education and a few more.
