Ignore dissenting voices and focus on defending the people.
That is the message from PPBM Information Chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan to the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government led by Muhyiddin Yassin, a day after he announced the RM15 billion economic and people protection package for Malaysians (PERMAI) to help the people and stimulate the economy in the fight against Covid-19.
PPBM “urges the government to continue to focus on the people and the country and ignore the dissenting voices,” said Wan Saiful on his Facebook.
PPBM “is confident that the people can clearly see Muhyiddin’s sincerity in taking care of this country, and how great the difference between him and those who are inexhaustible with personal interests” he said, without naming the individual in question.
Wan Saiful made the call as the opposition grew louder to oust Muhyiddin’s leadership, even accusing him of losing the support of the majority in the Dewan Rakyat to continue as prime minister.
Umno as the largest bloc in the government is reportedly considering withdrawing support for Muhyiddin during the 15th general election.
Muhyiddin was also criticized by the opposition for proposing a declaration of emergency, which was allegedly aimed at ensuring the survival of PN and not fighting Covid-19.
Wan Saiful said, Muhyiddin who is also the president of PPBM has proven his sincerity in taking care of the country and addressing the people’s problems.
“PPBM also invites all parties to give full support to Muhyiddin and the government in the efforts carried out. The announcement of PERMAI, by Muhyiddin proves that he is always looking for ways to help and solve the people’s problems.”
For Wan Saiful, the ultimate goal of PERMAIL announced by Muhyiddin is to emphasize the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic, safeguard the welfare of the people, and support business continuity, which coincides with current needs.
“People need cash on hand to enable them to spend, both for daily life and to maintain health. All eight initiatives in the “Preserving the Welfare of the People” agenda will definitely help increase the amount of cash in the hands of all of us.
“Ten more initiatives in the framework of” Supporting Business Sustainability “will ensure that small and medium entrepreneurs who are the backbone of the country’s economy will continue to carry out their activities,” he said.
